Hello friends! If your house is like our house, snacks are a constant must-have for the kids. Sometimes I would like to make snack time not every hour and save the hungries for a meal, but I get it, kids need snacks! And by making the snacks wholesome, packed with nutrients and lower in sugar then we have a winner, right?!
This recipe can be made as slushies or popsicles. Maybe you can tell but I like to give you options in my recipes (mom hug). I know you may not always have every item on hand and this recipe can be made with any fresh or frozen fruits and juice. We used a frozen berry blend with blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and strawberries. I love this blend so much and it is a freezer staple. All these nutrient dense berries do much for our bodies including fiber and antioxidants to prevent any damage to our cells, aka keeping them healthy. We also added frozen pineapple and some more strawberries.
FUN FACT: Pineapple’s beneficial antioxidants are bound in the fruit, meaning it may have longer lasting effects. Pineapple contains bromelain, which is a digestive enzyme that helps break down proteins and aid in digestion. All these fun, interesting facts make me so excited that we can enjoy in this yummy recipe.
Strawberries like any berry is loaded with nutrients from potassium, fiber, vitamin C and so many more. These nutrients are key to preventing cancers, promoting heart and gut health. Strawberries contain a good source of fiber and has been shown to keep blood sugars at moderate levels, without causing a huge spike – but slightly sweet to satisfy any sweet tooth.

I bought these molds a few years ago and I am still really happy with them. Here is a link from Amazon: Silicone Popsicle Molds with Lid and did I mention, I really like the ones with a lid. I put them in the dishwasher and they are very easy to clean.
Here are the 1/2 cup containers shown in the picture if you want to eat this yummy treat with a spoon, more like a slushy – Portion Control Containers.
